Works great and fairly easy to install beside the diesel tank tap.
Rick, any photos/description of the install?  How were exhaust and ducting lines run?

I will be back at the boat in a few weeks in Mexico and I could take some photos then. The heater is installed in the cockpit locker, the piping runs thru the floor of the cockpit locker. From the head, once you remove the the square toilet paper cabinet. You have easy access from there. From that point there's a "Y" splitter, one end runs to the aft cabin, the other runs in between the hull and the liner of the head "cabin". Then from the Nav locker, there's another splitter. One end runs to the bottom of the Nav locker and the other one runs all the way to the V-berth thru the small compartments where your back rest on the Port side settee.

I had the Oasis Firefly battery for a bit and I did like them. There is a fair amount of voltage sagging. Depending on your budget and how long you are considering keeping your boat. There's a new alternative to Lithium, there's a company called Battle Born making these LiFePo4 batteries that are super safe, 30% of the weight and 100% DOD.

You can get one of those nice heater similar to the Espar or Webasto for about $185 to $200 USD. Works great and fairly easy to install beside the diesel tank tap. It barely use power and sip diesel directly from your diesel tank ;)

Since we changed our head to a compost head. We were able to get rid of 2 thru-holes (Thru-hull ?). Here's a video of it:

We also got a Mantus on the bow, we used the bigger size bow roller paired with the 45lbs anchor and it fits pretty nicely. The anchor buddy works pretty well, it protects the anchor from rubbing or banging against the hull.

Hey guys,
After getting a new compost head, I was really thrilled to rip out all the head plumbing. I'm not gonna lie, it was a bit of #### job (pun intended) but it was all worth it. We patched the 2 thru hulls and replaced the windlass for a Lewmar V3. I thought since it was a bigger windlass, the hole in the deck would be bigger... I was WRONG! The hole was smaller than my V700. I guess I should of check before hand but ehh... I got a really good deal on it and went for it.

If you guys are curious to see the process, I documented it and posted it here:

Why bother with the pushpit modification?

That's what we had before and let me tell you Stu that the comfort difference is worth the money for us since we use them every day.

We used to have a Lewmar V700 which has been used extensively while it was sailed twice to Mexico and anchored 99% of the time. We love the fact the motor was protected and wasn't coming in contact with saltwater. When we pulled it out, it was over 10 years old and replaced it with a Lewmar V3 for the simple reason that the V700 wouldn't be handling 5/16 chain and the 300 feet of chain we just purchased. It was a bit of a nightmare when we realized the foot print of the V700 was actually bigger than the V3!  We had to reglass the deck and while we were there I raised it and reinforced it. Anyway, all that to say the vertical windlass hasn't been awesome for us and worked like a charm matched with the Mantus bow roller. Here's a few pictures  :D

We made ours in Mexico with the help of a Metal fabricator for fairly cheap and got some propane tank support at the same time. We quite like them and give us plenty of extra space in the lazarette.

We had a similar problem with our keel and ended dropping it. The were some serious fiberglass delamination and minor rust streak coming out of it. We documented our work during the process, here's the video if you are interested; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdQ03nGi8Sg&t=3s

Hope that helps a little bit.

Last year, I had the best time singlehanding in the Sea of Cortez on this boat formerly known as SV Blackdragon. It was such a treat, not having to rush from a place to another and not being on a schedule. For the first time I had the luxury of understanding what it means to ACTUALLY going with the wind. Sailing from anchor to anchor at times. It didn't matter if I was going 2 or 7 knots. In this video I also give some feedback about the Sailrite sails I made.

Let me know what you guys think. I love making those videos and looking forward of making more. Feedback will be greatly appreciated and well received!
