One other consideration is the Cat 34 fits in most "30 foot" slips which are more readily available that larger ones.  Usually a marina will allow up to a 5 foot overage.  Our marina dows I know.

Hi Ajf

We purchased a new C34 MkII two years ago and love it.  Would have considered a used one but there were none in our area with a furling main, which I am so glad I held out for.
The V-berth is great with the opening ports and hatch...We found the C36 Vberth much less open.
Our last boat, a C30, was great as our 2 boys were growing up, but this boat has so much more useable space.  I think our upcoming Alaska trip (in a few years)will be quite comfortable.
Good luck hunting...
