I have an 8 1/2' Zodiac with an inflatable floor dinghy that came with our
"new" 04 Cat. 34. I find the foot pump that came with it to be too much of
a hassle to use and would  prefer to use an 110V electric air pump
to inflate the dink.
Would very much appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks for any suggestions.

maybe you might try an old hair dryer without the heat.  Then finish it off with the foot pump.

   Jay,

MY experience with the 12v. cheapo air pumps is that they don't have the CFM to handle blowing up something very big. They don't last long either. If you want something to use dockside consider a small 1hp sears or similar pancake compressor. This will weigh about 40-50 lbs. and require 120v.

How long have you had your 34?

For dockside, how about using a shop vac.  It is low pressure and high volume so it won't burst your dink.  Probally will have to use the foot pump to top it off.

Jay : Look on page 195 of the West marine catalog.  I have one of the "double action" pump.  Got mine with an old Zodiac dink - mine has a pressure gage on it (don't know if this has one?).  Works much better than my foot pump.   :thumb:

For those who might be interested, I purchased the West Marine 120V AC Inflator 2.5 PSI. It worked great! Inflated the boat and the floor in about 3 min. No tiresome foot pump needed.
