Main Message Board / battery charger
February 10, 2013, 02:55:51 PM
Does anybody know what the life expectancy is of the battery charger Catalina puts in our boats. It is a 2003.  I have new batteries maybe month and a half old, when I check to see charge level in cabin they show around 14 volts on my gauge out by the wheel when I turn the key on it shows 13 volts. My diesel guy says that is normal.

Lance,
I use a runner and a mat to protect the sole. :thumb:

And Hawk try this take a damp rag and an iron (don't let the captain know) and place the rag over the dent and the iron on top. This will make the fibers of the wood to rise allowing you to sand the area down and then refinish.
Old shop teacher trick used it many of times on kides projects to get dings out.

Thanks for the response. I did get in touch with my diver who cleans the bottom. He responded with it is not recommended that hard should not go over soft. Would like some more input from others. I was going to contact both Interlux and Petit on Monday also.

Main Message Board / Bottom paint problem
May 05, 2012, 05:08:12 AM
Just had my bottom painted by marina here is the problem;

I had Micron extra on the bottom and the yard was supposed to paint it with the same paint however I found out they painted it with Trinadad instead.
Never had any problems the boat was in the water for just over two years.

My question is will I have a problem with the paint I was always told a hard paint cannot be applied over a soft paint is this true?

Also should I have them repaint with what I asked them to paint it with in the first place?

Jim,
If you need some information about the gennaker I could explain it to you some more. It is a grest product that fills the void for light wind and can be handled by two people.

Lance,
I would go to home depot and check out some of the products that they have to replace the counter top. Another idea is call the factory and see what they might have hanging around for the c34.

As to the tile I agree with Ron the boat will flex and crack the tile and grout, and the weight issue are you racing.

See you you in Annapolis you now where I'll be. :thumb:
