Noah, I am going for total replacement.  I am sure that it is original gear on the inside.

Steve,  I removed my sleeves due to dirt collecting between the sleeve and rigging.  My sleeves were a tight fit.  I do however have a sleeve that fits around the turn buckle,  about 18" high and about inch and one half in diameter.
Protects the mainsail.  Draw back:  spiders love it.

Those of you that have purchased an outhaul from CD are your satisfied with the quality?  One of my lines broke and it has been working very hard for the past few year.
Time to replace.
Thanks for any info.

Main Message Board / Return from N. Channel

We have returned from the N. Channel after a fantastic summer.  Good sailing from Muskegon and also on the return trip this past week. Tried new anchorages and also picked a lot of blueberries.  No bears.
Three of our six grandchildren were able to joins us.
Good to be back.
PS:  Will post a new topic if needed.  Broke my out haul this summer.  Needs replacing.

Hope to see some of you in the North Channel.  Stu, I have seen a lot of bears and never worried, but after last year you now have to think about rocks and bears.
Take care and enjoy your sailing.

We launched Cool Change this morning and will leave for the summer on Saturday, June 8th.  Will spend some time on Lake Michigan and then headed to the North Channel.
Wish all of you a great summer of sailing.

My hoses run along the port side of the engine.  The electrical wires run through conduits under the floor.  One conduit running from the space under the galley sink to the space in front of the holding tank. A second conduit from the area under the galley sink to the area by the water heater.  A third conduit from the area of the water heater to the space in front of the holding tank(by nav station). The conduits are pic pipes about 1" in diameter.  I have no open space under the engine.  As Ron pointed out a lot of wires run behind the overhead outboard decking.

Stu, Thanks,
I understand the difference Stu.  Who does the "policing" of the forum to make sure that all of the posts are "C34 relevant"?
Just a thought.

Ken, I think that Stu's idea of a post/thread has a great deal of merit.  There are many web sites and books dealing with this topic.  Also, our locale marine offers workshops every Spring dealing with boat safety and other issues.  I think this topic should be presented to our C34IA Officers for consideration and let them decide rather than through a collective process.

I went with a 150 Genoa, with ropeluff reefing with furling patches.

Several years ago, I bumped my head on the depth sounder and put a crack in the glass(plastic?).  It does not leak water but would like to replace it.
I contacted the company you see if they had any left.  They did not.  These were replaced a few years ago?  Does anyone know if you can replace the glass on the unit or does anyone know who might still have some of these around.  All my instruments work and see no need to replace them.
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Noah,  In your 5th pic you have a interesting end on your larger hose.  Could you give some more info on this end.  Looks nice and neat.
Take care,
