Exhaust Insulation

I would appreciate some advice on insulating the exhaust riser.  As the result of a recent purchase survey, the insulation must be replaced.

The old insualtion has a pliable external aluminum layer with fiberglass insulation on the inside.  It looks like the insulation is crimped around the exhaust riser.  I have tried to find this type of insulation to no avail.  I called Catalina, and they said that they would reinsulate the riser if i sent it to them.  I am still waiting for several promised callbacks as to whether or not they will sell me the insulation directly.


I spoke with a local diesel mechanic.  He informed me that they typically just wrap the exhaust with a high temperature exhaust wrap that can be purchased at a high performance auto-parts store.
