Your vessel is in distress and you are asked to give a "long count" by the Coast Guard.  This means....

The CG is use radio direction finding to help localize your position.  With DSC and almost everyone having a GPS on board this may soon become a thing of the past, but good knowledge to keep in the back of your head.
