Has anyone used their iPad as their gps? It would give me a larger screen and possibly more detail. Looking for pros and cons.

First thing I think of is coverage.  A GPS works anywhere.  I don't know about an Ipad.

The 3G version has a true GPS and will work anywhere. Search on "ipad apps" for a complete discussion of nav applications.

I haven't used it yet (just got my iPad) but I found an app called EarthNC Marine Charts. Gives you the NOAA raster charts on your iPad, lets you scroll and zoom and automatically loads the right charts. You can plot your route and it will use the GPS to show your position.
