Keel swap

I have a wing keel and would like to trade for a fin keel.  The boat is a 1989 and has always been sailed in fresh water. Hull # 925.

I'm currently in the process of swapping keels with another Catalina 34 owner.  The keels is very difficult to remove.  Why?  Becuase Catalina for some unknown reasons decided to fiberglass  the keel (fiberglass mat and resin in the hull to keel joint) to the bottom of the boat.   Not a typical installation.  Translation, increased cost.  

Also, don't forget the rudders has to change.
