Ya, well sure yah can, many ways to skin it.  But that wasn't the original question (an equally easy way as spotting a bowsprit on a 30?). And if the tape is gone or faded, then that visual is out the window.
Yah can measure I, or measure P, or measure LP, or sit it next to another boat, but that's not visually ID-ing it as he originally asked.   

Yah know, like folks explaining ad infinitum how easy it is to build a new saloon table?  :D  How did the trimming go, BTW?
