Chain plates defect

I noticed a little rust forming at the base of the port side aft chain plate on my new 34 MkII (1761).  Upon further inspection, I saw that it was missing a weld on one of the four sides of the junction between the upright and the plate.  It has a small tack weld, but that's all.  I have contacted the dlealer for correction and replacement, but I want to caution others to inspect theirs, as it would be very unpleasant if this were to fail.
