I like the eucalyptus leaves idea. Our Ozzie colleagues can corner the market!

My problem is that the morons who installed the Espar hydronic heater put the fan unit for the saloon in the forward`port locker next door to the holding tank locker. The result was a distinct pong when the fan is running.

First I tried isolating the two lockers but the liner design makes that virtually impossible. Then I tried to feed fresh air from outside to the fan inlet. That improved things but it is far from perfect. I think the plastic dryer ducting material that I am using may be permeable to odour. I might try more substantial 4" ducting material. Any ideas?

If all else fails I will sell the Espar system and install a simple Dickenson propane heater. The hydronic Espar system is effective but it is almost impossible to repair on one's own and I hate the idea of having all that heater hose running around the boat. Just an accident waiting to happen.
