In the first few months we had no problems, our little addition slept almost motionless...

BOM-BOM-BOMMM! (play the music in your head)

Our now 9-month old is now restless.  Has anyone had to build a temporary crib or equivalent?

Andy,

We have used a bed-trainer type sideboard to do this.  It is about 4 feet long, 12-16" high, and has two "legs" that swing out to slide under the mattress (cushion) so the weight of the bedding holds it in place,

One place was on the port setee.  Filled the gap at the Nav station with pillows, and did the same at the forward end of the sleeping area.  If the child stands,it doesnt help, but it stops all the side-to-side rolling around.

I also recall the board being just long enough to span from Drawers to hanging locker across the V-Berth, with the seat filler in place at bunk level (I have a 1986 MK1).  We have also used it between the engine compartment and the hull liner across the entrance to the aft cabin bunk.  When not in use, it folds flat and can lay down on any berth . . .

I don't know ehere we got the unit (it was a hand-me-over) so I have no idea what is available in the market today that is similar, but I am sure they are out there.  They may just be all plastic nowadays.
