I searched but couldn't find what I was looking for.  The salon overhead hatch (Bomar) on our 1987 (hull #475) has a broken plastic part where the supporting arm fastens at the hatch. Does anyone out there know if parts are availbale and where one would go to get them?
The part is fastened with a screw so it would be easy to replace.
Thanks, Larry

Hi Larry,

Bomar is now owned by Pompanette, LLC.  Their customer service number is (603) 826 5791.  I was able to get replacement parts for my hatch this spring.

Good luck,

Mike and Theresa Vaccaro

Larry,

We recently learned something when searching for hatch parts from Bomar:  Bomar has an "overstock" department, and they have complete hatch assemblies available for a reasonable price--be sure to ask the rep when you call.  The rep also pointed out that if you order parts through a supplier (West Marine, Defender, etc.), the "street" price is usually lower than ordering directly from Bomar.

We needed parts for both hatches, but I was lucky enough to find that both sizes were available as "overstock."  One was actually returned by a customer for minor scratches on the frame...but the forward hatch only cost 125 dollars, and the top hatch was about 90.  With shipping, both hatches cost less than one new hatch normally costs at "list" price.

Otherwise, Bomar has a complete line of most replacement parts.  They've got everything on their webite at http://www.pompanette.com/.  It takes a bit of searching to sort everything out.  Definitely worth a call.

Good Luck,

Mike

Wow! I paid at least $125.00 for just the lens, gasket and sealant for the forward hatch about a year ago.  A fool and his money...
