I have an '86 with the Beckson ports.  Has anyone ever replaced them?  I know, and have read and seen the posts on rebedding.  Does replacing need to change the port sizes?

They're 5 x 12.  No hole size change needed.

In the interests of full disclosure, I have changed the title to include the word Beckson

My plan had been to rebed my six primary beckson ports around the main cabin... I had bought new trim rings and screen, caulk etc. to do the job.  My buddy who was doing the work for me has 40 years experience in the marine business.  He called me after spending almost three hours extracting one port, it seems the previous owner must have rebed them with epoxy.  He suggesed replacing the ports rather than spending umpteen hours on labor trying to rebed and they were not surviving the extraction very well.... Upshot is that I got 6 new ports (his price just over $100 each) plus labor for $1000.
