Has anyone replaced the v-berth cushions on an older 34 with a new mattress from Catalina parts. The newer Catalinas come with a true mattress. I'm wondering if they would fit my older boat and if anyone knows Catalina's pricing for them.

I have a 2004 model and the v-berth cushions are still foam cushions, not a matress with springs.

I certainly am not an expert, but I have seen the "real" mattress on the "0" boats (350/380, etc) at the boat shows.  Don't know if that is an option or standard for that series of boats.

When you ordered the new custom mattress how many pieces did they make it in(1-2-3)?

I had a latex mattress custom made for the aft cabin last summer and it's very comfortable. It was made locally by a mattress manufacturer here in Ventura. They came to the boat and measured quite accurately. It fits perfectly!  Typical fabric top and a vinyl bottom.  I bought high quality sheets and they custom fit them. Cost was only about 3/4 of a boat unit.

They were very pleasant to work with.  Fred Palmer sent a gentleman from somewhere in your area to my boat to take all the necessary measurements.  Several weeks later, our sleeping comfort was transformed.  The cost of the mattress with shipping was $1000.
