Land Yacht
« on: March 08, 2019, 01:15:45 PM »

Recently purchased a new toy.  95 VW camper van.  Simple system, start battery and house battery.  House is charged by engine through a selenoid or via shore power.  Second day of our first road trip killed the house battery because the selenoid failed. Would like to add a circuit to show the house is getting charged.  Have a couple ideas.  Electrical Guru's what do you think?  One pic shows a warning light.  I think I will use a volt meter instead.  I only   want to show charging when the engine is running not house battery voltage.  Have a seperate system for that.

Do you have a schematic or model no on the alt?  There should be a terminal for an idiot light you remember those olde dashboards? ;-)

I've seen a number of RV installs which use an ACR with a remote light on the dash.
