Just remember to turn it off anytime you leave boat even for just a while. 2 different friends left on went to dinner ashore and had hose pop on output side of system and water tanks drained into boat. Just a thought.

Had this issue about twelve years ago and in the cold winter climate of Lake Erie cracked the skeg from expansion of water to Ice. Drilled into skeg and about a gallon of water or so came out. Found it when I launched as had a small fountain coming thru just forward pedestal. Fixed it with foam epoxy method and glass over top as described in previous posts above. Happy to report no issue on it since then.

I feel your pain and went thru this a few years ago. One old salt said start at the beginning and follow the fuel till the end. So I started with the fuel itself and took  sample off the bottom it was clean. Pulled fuel line pickup tube and found partially gummed up screen on end and tossed it and got very small improvement. Checked fuel vent hose and vent fitting on my stern found spiders partially blocking in the vent fitting as well as the fitting was upside down acting as a water collector thus why the separator kept getting the water out. Still not full RPM but again slight improvement. On to the water separator/ fuel filter changed filter no change on to the facet fuel pump found fuel was not pumping as fast as I thought it should pulled hose and pumped into a can to see this so OK checked lines and they were clear then ah what wrong with the pump and due to this forum found the mystery  filter in the Facet was fouled and cleaned it up a bingo that was the issue. Mine had a real fine mesh and cleaned it until all mesh was shiny silver. While I was at it did discover some not so tight hose clamps and some chafe and took care of those. Boat has run great since. On the hard starting issue mine would usually start but would have to stand on the glow plug button way too long so out came the glow plugs the tested fine by mechanic  cleaned up a little reinstalled and that solved that problem it almost start by looking at the start button after a 15 count on glow plug button. after reading all you have done and 2 symptoms of hard start and low RPMs did these both start to occur at the same time?  If so hope it is just a clogged fuel tank air vent line or fitting  if not I think you are on right path of injectors or injector pump. The best part was I learned the fuel system inside and out. Air flow in right places, no air in others and free flowing good fuel make happy engine. Good luck and let us know the outcome.       

If you need to run on the hard for a few minutes take engine intake hose off seacock. Have your water tanks filled. Put bucket under head sink fill with water from head Fawcett leave Fawcett in bucket. Put engine hose in bucket start engine and quickly turn on head sink water Fawcett to keep water continuously in bucket. Run at no more than 50% power or it may want more water than Fawcett can put out. I have done this when I had clogged intake to get a short distance. I have also done this on hard to heat up engine oil prior to change.   

Just to add our Mid ship spring line we call the blue stopper line is cleated to dock stays at dock when we are out and luckily we have several dock posts on our slip and have added large hooks to hang the dock lines when we are out. This line is also a different color line than any other dock line so there is zero confusion as to which line is the spring stopper line I let deck hands know grab the blue one in case they do not remember what a spring line is..

Our 1986 has a decked step mast and the only issue I have had with it was I was having trouble tracking down a leak and with the help of a moisture meter was able to determine the mast plate needed to be re-bed.

These are the same symptoms I had leading up to the water pump bearing failure on the internal water pump. I was was hitting 180 to 185 after about 3 hours once the lake water warmed up and would have to back down to cool off. I would also loose antifreeze more than normal. Once I put the new pump on in it has never gone above 160. May want to check if pulley on the pump spins freely with no friction and no play. Ask Turning Point if he had same symptoms leading up to his pump going out.

Welcome. Our 1986 Catalina lives at Herl's Harbor on Catawba Island Port Clinton Ohio west end of Lake Erie.

The perch is external and made of marine plastic white board. He built what I will call fiddles on both sides of the perch. The bottom fiddles fit over the transom and cockpit combing to lock from swinging forward and back and then cables attached to outer edge of perch  run at about 45 degrees up to horizontal stern rail. Perch sits out over the transom.  He also has perch attached to a vertical stern rail so no swinging left and right. He uses rubber tie downs to keep generator from moving on perch and secures generator directly to stern rail with line thru handle. The 2000 travels and runs in same place all the time. He also made a short chord to go from generator to shower power plug. Hope that helps.

On our 86 MKI we store Honda 2000 in aft storage right under the helm on a platform. There was a smaller platform there and I just added a few inches to accommodate the  feet on the generator. Added two bungee tie downs. It has traveled over 1500 mile in some rough water never moved. A friend added a perch made of plastic board and some cable and put off port stern and never has to move it to run. He has an 86 as well and cruised for two years from Lake Erie to Bahamas and back without issue. I store gas can on jug board mounted to stanchions.       

Mike I believe you may have wedge " moveable part with slot inside the frame pocket" Is it silver? A bolt fits in this.   If you are at boat post pic and I can confirm frame pocket. I will try to post pic next time we r at the boat of whole set up.

We went with a smaller table and love it to access starboard shelves in main salon!! We have a knob for the up and down on pedestal and a bolt that you tighten that pushes a wedge'  The wedge fits in bracket sleeve and as you tighten bolt the wedge pushes against the pedestal get out the wobble. so three parts knob, bolt and wedge.  Not at boat to measure bolt.

I had an issue several years ago occasional hard start and could not get boat speed to normal cruising speed on flat lake. Had new filters clean bottom etc.  I Cleaned mystery filter inside electronic fuel pump and removed screen on the fuel pick up tube both had ugly blackish globs on them. She has run great since 6.0 to 6.5 flat lake cruising 7.2 flat out  . Another thing to check is fuel vent line clear. I also checked fuel by pumping some out of bottom of tank and it was clear so fuel itself was not and issue. Some thoughts to check out.
