Max Prop on 1988 C 34

Does anyone have experience with a 3 bladed Max Prop on an older (M25XP engine) c 34 and if so, what was the pitch set at? Any additional comments?

My 88 has the same engine and Max-Prop.  Since it was installed by the PO, I am not 100% sure about the pitch setting but the documentation says that it is set at a blade angle of 18 degrees.  That translates to a pitch of 9.2 on my 15 in. prop. I have had not had any problems with the prop.  The boat seem to have adequate speed and power and reverse power is better than just about any other sail boat I have steered.  Maintenance has consisted of greasing on the every two year haul out and having a diver change the zinc hub about once a year.

I have just recently installed the Max-Prop
3 Blade Classic design using the settings they recommended. The same ones that "Peregrine" used, 15" prop @18 degress which does translate to a 9.2 pitch. It so far has lived up to all the reviews that I had read and an excellent addition to our boat's performance. I installed it myself (with an extra set of hands)following the directions it came with, it really is a beautifully engineered. James if you do itself, assemble it a few times to get familiar with it and how it operates. Happy sailing! Joe
