I would like to replace the bulbs in the cabin light fixtures, the sliders, and I have not been able to get them opened.  I did not want to force them and break the lense.  What am I missing, or where can I find info to show me how to disassemble the fixture?

Tom : I've taken off that lens dozens of times and think this is how I've done it ?

Slide the lens all the way to one end, squeeze and the pull down on that end and it should pop right off.

Look at brightlights.com and you can find LED festoon bulbs that will fit!!  A thought

I don't think you have to have them in any position, I never have, but it does seem like you are going to break them.  just pull down on it and it will pop off.
I agree with Ron...replace with LED's.  I suggest warm white over natural or cool.
I tested regular bulbs and LED's for heat output...LED's are at least 40 degrees cooler.

I've replaced my sliding fixtures with flourescent fixtures with real switches so I don't remember exactly but
I think you just pinch the plactic lens in a bit then they pull off.
