Aldo, All the best.  I'm watching local NYC TV CBS-TV news.  Frightening.  Stay safe, stay home, just like Mayor Bloomberg of NYC suggested earlier today.  Frightening is that anyone would be outside.

Well, came through the storm yesterday in good condition.  There was one sailboat that sank in the marina.  Not sure what happened.  The rest of the boats were fine.  In Narragansett Bay, RI looks like we had a 6-8' surge.

To All : It looks like most of us on the Chesapeake Bay lucked out!!

The strong winds were from the North West and it blew the water out, so we didn't get the damaging surge.

Hope others also have good news.

Got out to the marina yesterday to survey the damage; my heart sank when the first thing I saw after entering the yard were 2 boats on jack stands that were demolished on their stern quarters. and I mean demolished, right through the hull to the interior of the boats. One of them was a neighbor in the mooring field! I saw about 6 other boats in the yard with significant damage.
I figure I was extremely lucky. My bow pulpit was pushed up and back and the starboard stern corner, just above the rub rail was busted up. But insides were dry.
The damage most likely due to breakaways bouncing off TailWind (I'm a mooring dweller). 12 boats broke loose in the mooring field. Those who were there watching the storm at various times said the the waves were 8-10', and this is in the harbor! Plus it was blowing 50+.
I can't figure how the bow pupit got pushed up without other signs of contact on the hull or anchor roller... yup, extremely lucky.
