mast collar

Has anyone got any ideas of how to make a collar to fit around the mast from inside the salon. There is an space between the mast and the overhead i would like to cover up... thanks

You may want to consider not doing that.  It's helpful to have that opening to know if water is entering through the partners.

If you want to cover it, then it's up to you about finishes, all depends on what you want to see there.  I've never h

Kev : I agree with Stu that you may not want to cover it.  
If you still want to make a cover, I'd make it out of two pieces of 1/4 - 3/8" teak, secure them together around the mast and then caulk them to the top of the inside opening.  A thought
