I will search the mainsheet projects, but in the meantime has anyone put a Dickinson type wood stove in their c-34 and where have they mounted it? I do not sail through the New Enland winters, but I do go in the water in late April and come out mid November, so I'd like a cabin heater I can burn a bit of wood for warmth and ambiance. I'm just trying to figure out a place to mount one where it will not take away cabin seating. I'm thinking of mounting it in the hanging locker beside the chart table. I would of course take the door off and insulate the sides, but it might be too tight for safety.

Also I'm looking for any opinons on this type of heat.

Thanks, Jerry

I have no experience with wood burning on a boat. But take a look at this. http://www.swego.com/mall/heat_pal_5100.asp I have used this for years and it really throws the heat. The fuel is alcohol and very safe. It also doubles as a stove to make coffee/soup etc. on the colder days.

I did a search on "Force 10" and found this, among a lot of hits:

If you do a search on Dickinson, there is also a thread on that.

This is a real downside of changing the forum supplier, because all the links go BLOOEY.

I do, however, fully understand the need to do so.  I only wish the links came updated.
