Freya is a Mk II boat and I would like to add a pair of clutches on each side of the cabin roof, outboard of the existing bank.  I understand that Catalina anchors the existing clutches to an aluminum plate embedded in the coach roof.  Does this plate extend to the edge of the roof?  I’m not wild about through-bolting the clutches as the acorn nuts will become a real “head knocker” especially on the starboard (galley) side.

No one really knows what's installed on your boat (like Ron said about the factory).

You could try to drill where you KNOW you'll need another hole, and see what you hit.

Or, you could consider triple or quadruple clutches to replace your existing ones (although $$$) and use the holes from the new clutches that fit your existing holes, or drill new holes in the new clutch.
