I ordered a new main from Catalina,(a little high in price, but I liked the Idea of original equip.) It's been 8 weeks and still no sail. I call and they say its down from the sail loft but now they have to weigh it and ship it. This last correspondence was over a week ago. Could they be that busy? does it usually take this long? It hasn't been too much of a problem so far, but I'm ready to launch, and I don't want to hang my old bag of a mainsail. Another question, does anyone know where I could order a new genoa other than from Catalina? I know there are dozens of companies, but who could ship a genoa for my 1986 standard rig c34 QUICKLY? I'm sure for such a popular boat some company has my sail sitting on a shelf ready to ship ASAP. Also if anyone wants a well used but fully servicable full batten main or 150 genoa, you could have my old ones very cheap.

I am interested in the 150 genoa. Can you tell me more about it?  How old is it? Who made it? How much use has it had? Is it for a roller furler? How high off the deck is the clew when sailing upwind? Patches? Stains? How much?

I heard from Catalina today, My Main is ready and shipped today 1830.00 includes shipping, full battens, double reef and all graphics (hull number and C34 insignia). Not outrageous, but not cheap. National sails.com will ship new Genny in 4-5 weeks for about 1250.00, I might try them. I wanted the original Catalina product for the main, but the genny doesn't matter as much to me. I don't need racing sails, I just want crisp new white sails. :)

I like dealing with a local loft (Doyle Sails, Chicago in my case).  It may cost a bit more, but I feel the service more than makes up for any extra cost.  My sailmaker came out and measured my boat and also went sailing with me to give me tips on getting the most out of my new genoa.  If there's ever a problem I can talk to someone I know personally and it'll get taken care of.  Just my thoughts...

I'd have no hesitation about going with National Sails.  I refitted my 34 last year and was very impressed with quality, price and service.  Sail arrived when promised, quality was very good and the price couldn't be beat.  If you have any questions, call Dirk and he'll answer any questions you have.  I was impressed.
