Anyone have an experience with using the Strut Pro collect for cutlass bearing replacement with a DIY press?

It's around $600 CAD for the kit, for something I probably will never do again on this boat, or once every 15 years.  Not a good value IMHO.

The approach, and the collects are sound though.

Anyone make there own press and just order the collets?

There is a communal homemade strut pro tool floating out there among our website users to share. All you do is pay the shipping to "borrow it" from the last user.  Not sure who has it now but someone should pipe up. Maybe if you search the site you can find who has/had last? Or, wait for a response.

I had the shared tool earlier this spring/summer, and sent it back to Indian Falls, the creator of the tool.  It works great!

The C34IA tool is the best value for members but as an option we also rent two tools, the Strut Pro and the Bearing Buddy to our cutlass bearing customers.
