I need to replace the gear selector cable on my 1998 Mk II. The outer casing of the cable has split and the cable is rusting. The metal sleeve of the cable is swelling and making the gear selector difficult to shift.
Has anyone any information in regard to replacing the cable?

Catalina Direct carries transmission cables.

Thanks! I'll check it out. Any advice regarding the process to install the cable myself?

Thanks, Catalina Direct has provided the required installation instructions.

My advice to you is to replace the throttle at the same time.  It is not a fun or easy job and it is best to get both done so you won't have to do it again soon.
