Tom : One of the ways I found to clean the inside threads on the HX is to use a battery terminal cleaning brush!!

If you want to go to the new type brackets call Seakamp. They don't have a part number for them but just tell em you want the brackets for the new type Hx w/o the brazed-on brackets.
