The advantages of the "new" fridge systems from AB (and other brands?) is they come with pre-charged, quick disconnect copper lines. The end fittings allow you to connect and disconnect them without losing freon. No need to have a ($) tech onboard to charge the lines. You DO NOT want to cut them as that defeats the purpose. If you have extra line just "gently" coil it up behind the compressor.
