The updates to this have been discontinued.  Please use the Tech Notes Online.  Please also note that some articles included here are from other model boats and do not appear in the Tech Notes Online which are C34 Tech Notes only.  The references to other boat tech notes would be handy for those of you with paper copies of the magazines. Thanks,  Stu  11/29/2015

As promised in the recent Anchor Windlass post, here is the Index of the Mainsheet Articles, from 1987 to 2004.  The purpose of this post is to provide you with a copy of a reference source that you can cut & paste into your own word processing program so that you can more easily search the contents and find "archived" information more easily.  The existing Index is on repetitive pages at www.c34.org, and this puts it into one place.   It's so long that it will take two posts.  Happy cutting & pasting.  :D

You can also use the Jon Schneider "KNOWLEDGEBASE" (an index in Excel format which allows for quick sorting & searching) recently updated by Bob Kuba, here: http://www.c34.org/tech-notes-index/index.htm

Ron Hill

Stu : Many thanks for indexing the articles that have been written.
Steve is always looking for Mainsheet articles - take some time and put pen to paper.

In the "olden days" it was the way to communicate.  I could say more about the people that don't read what's written, but then I'll only get into more trouble!!    :cry4`

Thanks, Ron, and others, but this list is nothing new.

Just to be clear, it may be helpful to reread the "Guide to the C34 Website Technical Resources" that I posted recently:   http://c34.org/bbs/index.php?topic=2629.0

I may have not made it clear in that post, but I personally put the index together on Xmas Day 1998 with ALL of the Mainsheet magazines in front of me.  They had been given to me when we purchased the boat from Mr. Hes Reate, a fine gentlemen who passed away recently, and who had kept his boat, and now ours, in immaculate condition.  I had mentioned this in earlier posts and on the old List.

Once the index was prepared, the C34IA Officers agreed to expand it into the Tech Notes Online as a service to our IA members.

This is essentially a repeat, in a different format, of what I have been encouraging folks to do for years: copy the Index, stick 'em on their word processor and use it to search for information.

I'm glad it's helped in this format, urge you to copy it and use it for searches that we suggest you make in the Tech Notes in answer to your past, current and future questions, and note that it's only from 1987 to 2004.  Anyone's invited to fill in the gap from 2004 to now, and post them here, thanks again.

Thanks Stu for doing the "dirty work" that most of us were too lazy to do. I've used it two or three times already.

Finally, a chance to pay it forward a wee bit.  Everyone -thank you so much for all of the excellent advice and how-to.  My C34 is much safer and more reliable because of you.  I hope to contribute more in the future but you all are hard acts to follow.  So far, I'm just trying to keep up.  This past year, my projects have included most of the electrical upgrades, new water hoses, new hump hose, muffler repair, heat exchanger maintenance, etc.  Right now I'm knee deep in upgrading to the Vetus K75 engine mounts.  All of the projects have gone extremely smoothly thanks to the information from this forum.  :clap  :clap  :clap  Next on the list are a clean fuel tank and a smaller salon table.  I hope the heat breaks soon for some fabulous fall wind!

NOTE:  While the MB allows uploading of .doc files, they need to be less than 75KB and this one is 91 KB.  If you'd like to have the .doc file, I'll be glad to split it in to two parts and post it.  The first part would be the older Index material, and the second part would be updated regularly.
