Today I discovered an useful feature to the Link 2000 and Heart inverter/charger.  It's called the Power Share Feature.  You can set limits to the amperage used by the charger.  This is very useful when you're limited to 15 or 20 amps coming into the boat.  You can set the charger to use either 5, 20, or 30 amps and thus not trip the breaker.

For anyone who uses a Honda 2000i generator or connects to a 20 amp power source, this is especially useful since the ac breaker will shut off the ac output over 20 amps.  My inverter/charger would use upto 30 amps and I would have to run the generator and engine simultaneous to get thru the 1st stage of charging.  Now I set the link 2000 to adjust the charger to use 20 amps as its maximum and all is well.
