I just make these stories up of course.   In my next one I'm going to write about sailing into San Francisco and having to call the marina to have them bring the boat with the fire hose around to chase the sea lions off the dock before I could tie up.

On knives, have good serrated knives at the ready.  West Marine makes one that they offer at half price every now and then for $14 or something.  I have one on the pedestal always and everyone has one on their harness on Blackdragon.   Even a razor sharp straight blade doesn't compare.

Stu, we're here!   We're being tourists for a couple of days, bagging the laundry up.   We'll give you a call.  We're at Pier 39.    I think a few days of this and we'll be ready for marine stores on the east side of the bay.   We might sail up the Sacramento.   Have you got Arnie's phone number?   We thought we'd invite him out for an evening sail and dinner.
