Ron,

Thanks for the advice, for the time being I'm just going to install the original Sailer that came with the boat and see how it goes. Since I don't race anymore I don't think a little prop drag is going to be a problem.

I may be stating the obvious but if its a 2-blade, mark the shaft and on longhauls lock it vertical behind the strut.

Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did.
So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.  Catch the tradewinds in your sails.

Ken,

Thanks for the heads up, I'm familiar with that technique I used it when I started racing before I went to a folding prop.

Kevin/Guys : FYI, "PropScan" can increase the efficiency of your existing fixed blade prop!!

Just want to say thanks for the help. Offshore trip to Catalina last week. Just closed seacock under sink in head, opened the one by the waste tank, macerator worked as advertised. Love this forum.

krafty,

You got the last week of summer at the island, I hope your trip was a little less eventful than mine.

Would have liked to sail a bit more, winds on the bow all the way up to OCN and Catalina. Plenty of mooring balls. There was no blue pill or inspection of waste tank, just show up and go where the guy in the little boat tells you to go. Two Harbors was really nice and not crowded.

krafty,

The only place they in Catalina tab your boat (dye tablets) is in Avalon Harbor they don't even do it in Desconso (outer harbor).

Surprisingly, during my trip this month to Catalina (Sept. 4-16) they did NOT come aboard while I was in Avalon and drop in a dye tablet. However, they did do that (for the first time) when I was anchored in Newport Beach this trip.

We were in Avalon first, then two harbors. No tablets for us.
