Anchors
That particular link is way old. I think it suggests using 3 inches of chain on dental floss!
One of the very best articles I've read about anchoring is this one, which is four pages long and includes pictures. Use THIS one! And for your SAFETY, it is rather important. [1]
Docking
You'll need some dock lines and it usually helps to have a fender or two.
