In many of the early boats the pins in the idler pulleys are made of brass or bronze. The idler pulleys are located behind the fiberglass panel in the upper center of the aft wall in the aft cabin. Because of the out of the way location, they do not get lubricated regularly and tend to wear to the breaking point. Replacement stainless pins are available from Edson. www.edsonmarine.com
