size of loos gauge

for my 1986 c34 and for a 2013 c31, can we use the same size loos gauge, for working on the rigging and if so, what size would we use?  thanks

Becki. Go to this link and it has instruction and the guage size required for each wire size. Your backstay should be 5/16 unless someone has upsized it.

Becki : You need a gage that will measure 5/16"  1X19 wire.  The lowers are 1/4" diameter

My Loos gauge is @ 15 yrs old and can be used on different wire sizes. If you don't have a table of recommended Loos settings by wire size, you'll need to create one. Or do a search on the site, as I think you'll find one. If you can't, I'll bring mine home from the boat and post it.
