Sorry if duplicate topic....

1988 C34, bilge pump float switch was just replaced, yet, will not consistently turn on the pump.
All wires tested as hot. Anyone have a bilge pump wiring diagram or thoughts?

We are taking on water from the keel bolt area, they were also recently tightened.....

Stray Cat,

Are you saying the pump doesn't pump water, or that the pump isn't energized at all (due to the switch or whatever not putting power to the pump.)

Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did.

Thank you, temporarily fixed it before work this morning!

Any oil/diesel in the bilge?  Some pumps cut out if oil is detected.

Well, the temporary fix did not work....we finally gave in and replaced the bilge pump and found a short in the wiring to the pump itself.  So that issue is now resolved.
HOWEVER, during this wiring map session we've discovered another short in the wiring to the AC system.  Additionally battery 1 (starting battery) needs replacing...
