Guys,

Bed-It Tape is specifically formulated for bedding deck hardware and has not been tested for below waterline use. This costs huge $$$$$ and there is not enough margin in the product to even begin to have the lab begin the series of tests needed for this rating. 

For an item that rarely goes below water it should be perfectly fine but this job will take two people. One outside compressing the Bed-It Tape and not allowing it to spin, using a step wrench, and one inside snugging the nut. Marelon is simply nylon/Dupont Zytel 70G13L and Bed-It Tape is fully compatible...
