Navpod installation on offset pedestal guard

I'm trying to figure out the best installation configuration for my new Raymarine E90 multifunction display on my offset (two angles) pedestal guard. I bought a navpod designed for the E90, but it's 6.5 inches deep, which is too deep for the lower angled position because the compass is in the way. I currently have a three-instrument navpod in that position because the PO had a radar display on the top vertical portion of the guard, which is no longer there. I have a Garmin 192C on an Edson arm in the top part of the guard. The new navpod will not fit there because there's not enough room between the top of the three-instrument display and the top of the guard. I'm thinking my best option is to buy a new guard with a single angle, but I'm concerned the screen will be tilted back too far (the E90 navpod comes with a built-in upward tilt of about 10 degrees. The angled guard has an 18 degree slant, so my screen would be tilted back about 28 degrees (I haven't calculated my line of sight standing at the helm, but I'm guessing at this point that it might be tilted back too far. Another option might be to have the offset guard extended to make room for the E90 navpod at the top, but I'm afraid it would block my view (I'm 5'9"). I've read through the forum and wiki and haven't found a discussion of how to mount these larger (deeper, that is) navpods designed for multifuntion. A third, less-desirable alternative would be to lose my three-instrument navpod altogether because I can view everything on the E90, but there's just so much space on the screen. And I particularly want a separate depth instrument with large numbers for cruising in these shoaling NC channels and the ICW. Any other thoughts appreciated.
