Monitor wind vane

All right, I'm going to be posting several questions in the next few days.

I'd like to install a Monitor wind vane.  Has anyone done so, and is there anything I should consider?  I guess the swim ladder won't be usable anymore, but that's no big deal, I can always board from the side.

I'm in San Diego right now, so if anyone with local knowledege could point me to a good business I would appreciate it.  I have already visited Downwind Marine, since I'm nearby at the municipal dock.

Downwind marine is probably your best bet for purchasing new equipment in San Diego. If your ever looking for any crew, let me know I would like to sail on a 34 as I am in the market for one.

I second the recommendation for Downwind Marine.  I've been there multiple times and they've always been helpful.  Their prices are competitive (sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less than the "big guys").
