A friend who owns a C30 is having a mast leaking problem and asked for advice on diagnosing the source.  This lead me to the C30 owner's association website.  I don't mean any disrespect to the organizers of that website, but the contrast to ours is startling.  I have no doubt that if I was researching the same problem on our website, I would find in 15 minutes a detailed description of the problem, cause, and solution with step-by-step instructions and likely photos of each step in the process.  I don't think I have ever had a problem or an issue with my boat that has not been forensically dissected on this website and in the linked technical articles.  It is perhaps too easy to take this for granted until you see what limited information is available for other owners.

So, this is my lengthy way of saying thanks to those who have made this such a great resource.  Stu and Ron of course come to mind but I am sure there are many others.  I can't imagine that there is a better owner's association website out there.

As a recent, former C-30 owner, I agree 100%.  The guys on the site are great and are very knowledgeable about the C-30.  But there is no database of repairs/issues like there are here.  I can't tell you how many times I've re-written my procedure for re-bedding the C-30 windows.
I like both sites for different reasons.  This site is great for the technical information provided and stored.  The C-30 site I find has more friendly banter back & forth.

I could not agree more.  The WHOLE reason I am starting Fleet 14 in southeastern Florida is the quality of the C34IA.  A tip-O'-the-hat to everyone who makes it great.

ALL of you contribute, which makes the C34IA the great organization it is.  Thanks to all of you.

Amen for the thanks!

As far as rain water coming down the keel stepped mast into the bilge - I've been unable to solve that vexing problem in the past 26 years and it sure as hell has not been because I didn't try!?!

Who is Stu?   I did a search and couldn't seem to find any of his posts here on the site...

Back in the old days, in a land not that far away, while I was suffering from my multiple boating personalities and owned a Bayliner 3270 MotorYacht I joined the BaylinerOwnersGroup shortly after it's Forum's inception.  I watched it grow from a handful when I joined 3/07 to almost 18,000 members today.  I found it my most valuable resource in the past while I owned my 3270.

I can honestly say that the C34IA is, without a doubt, the BEST organized owners group I've ever had the pleasure to find.  I don't like getting specific with names, we all know them, this group has a makeup of the most knowledgeable owners who's willingness to share that expertise is unequaled anywhere I've been.  I stand in awe sometimes believing that these people were born with that knowledge but do understand that much of it may have been gained the hard way.  Still they all share so freely.

Hat's off to everyone here.  I do hope that some day I will be able to offer some contribution that may help someone else.

Sincerely
Steve
