Looks a lot like the toilet flange wax seals I carry (but have never used) for emergency.  About a buck at any plumbing supply.

Guys : Although it is not stated in the vidio, that product is bees wax which is what's Jim's toilet wax seal is made of !!

Jim,
Thanks for the video.  As you, I have two of the toilet flange wax seals aboard but fortunately have not had to use them. Might try to create a situation somehow & give it a try to see for myself how well it works in case I really have to use it.

looking at the video ... it looks a bit staged and in low pressure situations as well as mild to calm conditions ... I would think you would be wanting something in adverse conditions.... Have it by all means as a back up ... but also your timber plugs, under water epoxy and a cloth/canvas etc with eyes in each corner to position on the external side of damaged hull as pressure will push it into the hole.
