Replacing the battery charger went to the top of the to-do list on a short cruise this week.  Have a Xantrex trucharge2 comming from Defender.  My question is.  How helpful is the optional remote they offer?  I'd be interested in hearing what people that have the remote think about it.

I think it depends on where you plan to install the charger, and how accessible the controls and display will be for you.

I have mounted the remote over the chart table and  I use it exclusively to control and monitor the charger. I should have bought the optional battery temperature monitor as well.  On my list.

Is a battery temperature monitor needed for each battery?

I don't think you can connect more than one.

Jim : I think the Truecharge2 remote is great.  Look at the capabilities of the remote (There are a few) and I think you'll agree.

As far as a battery temp wire, Xantrex has them, I have one for my DC alternator voltage regulator, but I'm thinking I might also do it for the AC charger.
