Our shower drain pump stopped working. I don't know if it the switch or the pump. I already have a replacement pump. What type switch does it use?

Lance : You can get a replacement rocker switch (small size) from Seaward.  Also ask them if they still have a clear waterproof cover for the switch.  A thought

Lance, it depends on what you already have on your boat.  Ours is a simple toggle switch, as pictured here:  http://c34.org/bbs/index.php/topic,4669.0.html (just look at the switch - that's a toggle switch).

Ours bit the dust last year.  I just removed it from the panel below the teak trim next to the wooden shower seat and slapped in a new one.  The existing rubber cover was in good condition so I kept it.  You can always buy rubber boots for those switches.

The answer to your question is go look and see what it is you have and replace in-kind.

I recommend doing the switch first or simply jumper the switch and make sure it's the switch first before messing with the pump.

Thanks all. Stu, that was my plan and then work from the switch forward. Would rather spend the $20ish dollars then have to put in my replacement pump.

Yikes, $20 for a toggle switch!?!  Go to Ace Hardware.

Lance : I gave you the replacement info for the OEM switch.  I believe that that replacement would be about $5-$8 ?  Years back I posted on our C34 web site a price list from Seaward for their replacement parts and their prices!!  I believe that list still exists, but the prices have probably change.
As Stu mentioned, you can install any switch - that will fit into the old hole or you can drill in another hole!!  Your boat - your choice!

This is an older post but I thought I would add some  recent information on a replacement rocker switch.

I tried Ace hardware and West Marine, but neither had a switch that was anywhere near the physical size of the original seaward supplied switch.

However Pep Boys has a switch that fits perfectly ( for $3.99).   It has a third terminal (to light up the rocker), so you just use the other 2.

Guys : What ever switch you install make sure it has a water proof cover over it

Lance,
Have you tried bypassing the switch yet to see if it will work that way?
