desperately seeking strut

I am trying hard to find a replacement strut for an '89 c-34 (wing keel).  The old strut proved to have serious electrolysis and basically came apart during the effort to install a new cutlass bearing.  (Be sure your strut has zinc.)  I have been talking to the factory and they are trying, but it is proving to be a difficult process.  Meanwhile the boat is in dry dock, and storage fees are mounting.  Suggestions welcome.

Wet : I see that you have been talking to the factory.  
Talk to Gerry Douglas and I believe that you'll find that the C34 used the same strut as the C36.  That may broaden your horizons.
I doubt that Catalina made their own struts and probably purchased struts from another company.  Gerry can tell you.  A few thoughts
