And, without divulging too much (for fear of breaking promises), we're planning on housing such content on the c34 site as well.  One way of doing this might be on a not very dramatic improvement to our current homepage... really just a re-fresh.  You can see it here in wiki format: http://www.c34.org/wiki/index.php?title=Test_homepage.  Remember, it's just a test page for now.  The coding is kluge (I can say that since I did it), but it gives room to have individual points of view on a rotating basis (see the top right-hand column "On My Mind").  It could certainly be a place for links to individual blogs.

Why not just post it to a new wiki page?  I do see though that other respondents log onto the blog, so keeping it here on the C34 website might limit it's "readership."  Nice job, Steve.

Keep the posts coming...   that's a nice blog site for cruisers,
complete with google earth tracking.

Blogs are different bird from wikis (and bbs for that matter)
as they are chronological in nature, combine pages/posts
that don't change and include simple discussion.  However...

The wiki is open to anyone who would like to create a page
about a cruise that they did and/or destination pages...
similar to:   http://www.c34.org/voyages/index.html

Or it could even have a page associated with your boat...
similar to the 'Gallery' section.  http://www.c34.org/gallery.html

The nice thing about our wiki is that you could make a page
titled 'Your Boat Name' and put some details about you, your
boat and your cruises.... and of course a cruise could link
to another page  titled 'Cruise Desitnation'  or
'Cruising the ____ coast' ... etc.  You get the idea of
the options/flexibility.

Give it a try... explore our wiki  http://c34.org/wiki/ and
see what's there and what is being added.  If you're
interested in making a page try editing a page or
at least clicking the edit tab of an existing page and
learn a bit of the wiki markup syntax.  (There are also
tutorial links to help guide you through).   For editing
you need to login, just use your same username/pass
as you do for this bbs.

Though the google position feature was nice, what won the day for us was being able to send in a blog update via email over the single side band.   Speaking of which the single sideband remains a vapour ware item in our cruising arsenal.  Anybody have an Icom 802 with AT 140 tuner that they would like to unload for say $500?   Throw in the Pactor usb modem, I'll gladly pay $700!
