So what do you do with the teak winch handle holder you bought for $6 at Minney's, but will not fit your locking winch handles?

Why cut a couple of pieces of 3/4" teak as inserts and turn it into knife storage, naturally....

Stu, I did move the hinges at I believe your suggestion.  You were correct, it was a simple change that made a great improvement.
