I Think that my starter is slow...
Do you know how much Amp. draw a normal starter on a M-25 motor?
And how much the glow plugs to?

Thank you all!

re: Starter, I've seen a bit under 200A display on my Link battery monitor when the starter is engaged. The glow plugs take about 7-8A each. You don't need to have the glow plugs engaged while cranking.

#3
That's why I up-sized mine to #1. A PO had moved the Start battery to the compartment just ahead of the mast and extended #1 back to the original battery compartment, but there was still the original #4 going through the 1-2-ALL switch as well as the ground path. It cranked quite slowly. When I upgraded my engine and shore charging systems, I upgraded the cables to recommended sizes to minimize loss. Yes, it was a fair amount of dollars, but no regrets. At the minimum, redo all the factory lugs. That should make a substantial difference. There are many threads on electrical upgrades on the forum. It's worthwhile to do a bit of studying of other people's enhancements and make the best choice of design for how you intend to use your boat.
