Is it possible to polish Marine Tex repairs to about the same gloss as gelcoat?

If so what are the procedures and materials.

Thanks.

My guess would be to try wet sanding with very fine grit sandpaper.  Probably 1500 to 2000 grit.  You can find this in auto parts stores.  Start with 220, 400 grit, then keep moving up to the finer types.  The other option would be to brush on a layer of gelcoat, and polish that up.

If you haven't done the work yet, the trick is to cover the marine tex with saran wrap right after you put it on.  This creates a more shiny surface, which you can polish with wax.  It won't match the shine on regualr gelcoat, but it's better than trying to sand it.
