The engine wiring harness material is found here:  http://www.c34.org/projects/projects-harness-upgrade.html

If you have an ammeter in your engine cluster it's a giveaway that the upgrade hasn't been done.  If you have a voltmeter, it's no guarantee it's been done, you need to check the wiring connections both at the engine (that Ron noticed) and behind the cockpit panel.

Read the referenced material, and check the Knoweldgebase (http://c34.org/bbs/index.php?topic=3362.0) for earlier stories, including boat fires and engines starting up all on their own...

Ron and Stu,

Thanks for your observations and suggestions. My 88 boat was manufactured in Nov 87.
As Ron pointed out I had the original wiring harness with the trailer connectors. I order the
wiring upgrade harness and volt meter from Seaward in March.

I completed the installation today.

Thanks gentlemen and to all on this great site.
